MAMO2018 Rome

The fourth MAMO conference was held in Rome in 2018 and was co-organised by Prof Lila Yawn (John Cabot University), Prof Tommaso di Carpegna Falconieri (Università degli studi di Urbino ‘Carlo Bo’), and Dr Pierre Savy (École française de Rome).

The keynote speakers were:

  • Salvatore Settis – La culla in una tomba. L’antichità nel medioevo, il medioevo nel moderno
  • Andrew B.R. Elliott – #Medieval: Social Media, Medievalism and Participatory Culture
  • Francesca Roversi Monaco – Universitas studiorum: i miti di fondazione delle università
  • Michèle Gally – Sortir de l’histoire : le Moyen Âge comme a-chronie dans la littérature contemporaine
  • Alessandro Barbero – Crociate, storiografia e politica: sentieri che si biforcano e destini incrociati
  • Benoît Grévin – Nationalisme et médiévalisme
  • Elizabeth A.R. (Peggy) Brown – Jesus Christ, Catholic Costumes, and Catholic Imaginations: The Apostolic Church, the Vatican, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art
