The Middle Ages in the Modern World is a biennial conference about the ways in which the Middle Ages have been received, imagined, invoked, relived, used, abused, forged, and refashioned in the modern and contemporary worlds.
Established in St Andrews in 2013, it has subsequently been held in Lincoln (2015), Manchester (2017), Rome (2018), and London (2025, postponed from 2020).
It will return in 2027 to be held in Oxford (22-24 June 2027) at Lincoln College. The sixth MAMO conference is being organised by Prof. Rachel Burns, Dr Rebecca Menmuir, Prof. Marion Turner, and Dr Laura Varnam.
We welcome expressions of interest to host the next MAMO conference in 2029 or beyond. Please get in touch at <themamoconference@gmail.com>.
